Hummelmagnet — Trifolium pratense
Red clover (Trifolium pratense) is the single most important plant for Irish bumblebees. Its deep, tubular flowers are perfectly shaped for long-tongued bumblebee species, providing rich nectar and pollen from May through to September.
Beyond its pollinator value, red clover is a nitrogen fixer — it captures nitrogen from the air and stores it in root nodules, enriching the soil naturally. This makes it valuable as a green manure, a cover crop, and a lawn alternative.

Scatter on prepared or scarified soil. Press gently — do not bury deeply. Water well initially. Sow March–September. Germinates in 7–14 days. Can be mown to 7cm after flowering to encourage a second flush.
